Alternative Break (AB) trips provide a unique opportunity for students to participate in an intensive service experience while increasing their understanding of the historical and systemic causes of inequality and equipping students with tools to be change makers in their home communities.
AB trips can take place over fall, Thanksgiving, winter, or spring break and can range from a weekend to a week-long trip. Our alternative breaks focus on the areas of urban poverty, immigration, or homelessness. We offer a combination of service opportunities with our justice ministries, workshops on structural causes of poverty and homelessness, opportunities to authentically engage community, and learn about community organizing for structural change.
